Sahab Yaqubi, MD

I am a Board-Certified Psychiatrist specialized in treatment of Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and Anxiety Disorders. I utilize medication management and psychotherapy, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, as my primary approaches to treating depression and anxiety. With years of experience working with patients facing treatment-resistant depression and anxiety, I have recognized that not all individuals respond to standard treatments. As such, I offer alternative therapies, including Ketamine-Assisted Therapy and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), to help those who need more advanced care.

My approach

Depression and Anxiety are challenging conditions that require a comprehensive approach to treatment. Understanding the symptoms, causes, and available treatments can empower individuals to seek help and take steps toward recovery.

At PathWave Psychiatry I take a personalized, collaborative and integrative approach to psychiatric care through medication management and psychotherapy. Implementing a personalized approach, I develop a treatment plan that considers each person’s unique needs, symptoms, and circumstances. This process typically begins with a thorough evaluation of the individual’s mental health, any co-occurring disorders, and potential contributing medical conditions. Each patient's treatment plan outlines specific personal goals and clinical outcomes, which are regularly assessed using measurement-based care tools. If patients do not progress as expected, treatments are adjusted accordingly until the desired clinical outcomes are achieved.

In my treatment approach, psychiatrists and psychotherapists collaborate effectively through shared care plans that align with patient goals. I work closely with your psychotherapist to develop the most practical, evidence-based, and personalized treatment plan for each individual.

  • Psychiatric Consultation- Medication Management

Pathwave Psychiatry offers personalized psychiatric consultations to assess your mental health needs, followed by medication management to ensure optimal treatment outcomes. The service integrates therapy and evidence-based medication management, tailored specifically to each patient’s needs to improve overall mental health. Sessions are designed to monitor progress and make necessary adjustments to the treatment plan.

  • Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)

Pathwave Psychiatry offers Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), a non-invasive, FDA-approved treatment primarily for treatment-resistant depression and OCD. TMS uses magnetic fields to stimulate neural activity in the brain, helping to alleviate depressive symptoms by enhancing brain connectivity and promoting neuroplasticity. This therapy is also being explored for other conditions such as anxiety, chronic pain, and bipolar disorder, particularly for patients who haven’t responded to traditional treatments.

  • Psychedelic Coaching & Consultation

Pathwave Psychiatry offers psychedelic coaching and consultation sessions focused on integrating prior psychedelic experiences with conventional therapy and medication management. These sessions are designed for individuals interested in using psychedelics for self-growth and alleviating existential distress. The practice emphasizes harm reduction and safe exploration, though they do not provide psychedelic-assisted sessions as these substances are not FDA-approved for clinical use at this time.
